Some of the Early Stage Researchers of the ADAPTED network spend so-called secondment periods at non-academic partner organisations of a duration of three to six months: Non-academic partners of ADAPTED which are hosting secondments consist of two European Development Finance Institutions (DEG, AFD) from Germany and France and one Non-Governmental Organisation (SOMO) from the Netherlands. Secondments are foreseen for ESRs whose projects are closely related to the areas of work of these organisations. The intersectoral and transferable skills acquired by the ESRs during the secondments at non-academic partner organisations include project and self-management skills, important insights into the functioning of the host organisation and its business networks, and new sets of interorganisational skills.
